5 Fav Restaurants Near Osan Main Gate

Lately the biggest, hottest new restaurants have been going in near Camp Humphreys and it's been amazeballs, but that doesn't mean there aren't lovely places near Osan Air Force Base.  Here are my top five favorites. These are in no particular order, just my fav 5.

Loco Tacos

These Baja style tacos are light and refreshing. We go here on an embarrassingly regular basis. My favorite are the shrimp and fish tacos, but my partner in crime loves the pork. Try a few different ones and find your favorite.

When we are tired and really hungry, this hits the spot like nothing else. It's also very good the second day, so grab one for to dinner now and one for dinner tomorrow.

Oishi Sushi

Who doesn't love some good old-fashioned American style sushi rolls? When the urge hits us nothing cures the need like Oishi.

Thai Corner

There are we simply NEED Thai food and don't feel like driving to the ends of the earth. Thai corner isn't the most authentic in the world, but it's reliable and consistent.

A good sandwich is had to find here, thankfully this guy is close and makes tasty sammi with the saltiest fries ever (in a good way). I'm not comparing them to Philadelphia because I've never had a sandwich in Philly. What I'm saying is that they make a damn fine sandwich that I always enjoy.

The Big Bite

Quite frankly, because The Big Bite advertises themselves as a family style restaurant I've been avoiding eating there. Usually, at these type of places, there is nothing on the menu that I'm interested in and I only eat there out of obligation to try the place. However, I'd seen that they had a Caesar salad so I decided to just see what kind of craziness would ensue.

Despite my negative attitude, The Big Bite was a pleasant surprise. We ended up not only trying the Chicken Caesar, but also the Fish & Chips. Both ere different from what we are used to, but still quite tasty. In fact, we are impressed by the simplicity and quality.

It also truly is a family restaurant and here is why:
  • Free refills on your soft drinks.
  • Surprisingly accurate Western style service.
  • A simple menu that still has something for everyone, even dessert.
  • Lot's of space.
  • Plenty of parking.
  • A clean, fresh, open interior.
  • Simple flavors and quality ingredients.
  • Large portions.
Is this my absolute favorite restaurant ever! No, I can't say that, but it's good and I think a lot of people would really like it since they serve very attainable flavors. No surprises. It's not going to change your life, but you are going to eat it and think, "Wow, I'm super full and feel good." The next time I'm with friends whose kids or husbands are picky eaters, this is where I will bring them for sure.

So if anyone in your family isn't into kimchi or spicy foods, The Big Bite has you covered.
